The amount of water, and water content Along with many other features, the Body Fat, Smart Body Fat, and Smart Heart Rate scales record your water weight. This number is important because our bodies need water to function properly. If you know this number, you can compensate for the loss of water in your body by increasing your water intake. Bone mass Your bone density can help predict your fracture risk and your bone health. Having a scale that measures this can tell you whether your bones have normal, low, or very low density. The Body Fat, Smart Body Fat, and Smart Heart Rate scales use a small electrical current that passes through fat, muscle, bone, and other tissues at different speeds to calculate your bone mass.
BMI Having a scale that can quickly measure your BMI will provide a more detailed overview of your overall health. This number is commonly used in healthcare settings to determine high body fat and weight. To calculate, divide your body weight by your height. BMR This number refers to the number of calories your body burns at rest. It takes into account your gender, height, weight, and age. Knowing this number will help you understand how many calories you may need to increase or decrease to reach your goals or maintain an optimal diet. You can get this measurement using the Vive Precision Body Fat, Smart Body Fat, and Smart Heart Rate scales. Smart capacity Our smart body fat, smart heart rate, and smart body weight scales are designed to connect to your smart device and are free with the Vive Precision app. With the rise of telehealth, more and more doctors are using applications and digital data to better monitor and communicate with their patients.
The ability to connect your iPhone or Android to the scale makes it easy to track your measurements. You can simply store this data in the app for personal use or send it to your doctor for review. Featured Activation step Turn on the scale by stepping on the platform. The LED display will light up, and the scale will immediately begin calculating your measurements. Automatically shutdown Similar to the activation step, we have designed all of our scales to do this. There is no need to turn off the scale after use. Using bioelectrical impedance analysis, each Vive Precision scale provides measurements in 0.2 increments, but our scales collect these measurements in two different ways. See a brief explanation of each method below. Accurate sensor These sensors are used to calculate measurements on our standard body fat scale and smart body fat scale. You can see the metal sensors located on the scale’s dial, which is where you place your feet. These metal plates measure the applied force and send a low-intensity electrical current through your body to calculate body fat.
Conductive ITO coating You’ll often see this material used in touchscreen devices, but you can also find it on our smart heart rate monitors for even greater accuracy. Similar to the precision sensors used on our body fat scales, this material measures weight and sends a low-intensity electrical current through the body to calculate body composition measurements. The use of ITO coating gives the scale a sleeker look, and the material is touted for greater accuracy. Maximum weight Check the weight limit to make sure the scale you choose can accurately measure your weight.
